Alapatt group of business enterprises was founded by the Late Mr. P.T. Antony in the early 40's. Mr. Jose Alapatt, eldest son of Mr. P.T. Antony had taken over the family business when his father passed away. The House of Alapatt, a ten-storied commercial complex with a built up area of 30,000 sq. ft., is situated on the M.G. Road at one of the prime centres of Cochin. The complex already reckoned as a landmark in Cochin is a marvel of modern architecture and exquisite landscaping. The House of Alapatt is the corporate office of the Alapatt group owned and controlled by Mr. Jose Alapatt.

Alapatt Jewellery rated as one of the finest and largest of its kind in the country occupies a total of 9000 sq.ft on the ground, first and second floors of House of Alapatt.
The entire second floor houses the exclusive state of the art Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri, Zaveri Bazar, Mumbai’s Diamond Jewellery showroom.

Alapatt has another jewellery showroom at Kottayam. This showroom is situated at the Central Junction, the main bazaar area of Kottayam, one of the most affluent towns of Kerala.

Though the core activity is in gold and diamond jewellery retailing, there are other major business sectors in which the Alapatt name has earned great reputation and considerable standing. Exports of marine products to Japan, Europe and the U.S. is a major activity. The Alapatt Trading Corporation, Cochin, is a statewide distributor of national and international brands of home appliances electronic goods and communication equipments and devices.
